Campers have S'more fun!

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend at Tannehill.  Chris's parents took their camper down on Thursday and we went Friday night and stayed through Sunday.  It was just what Mommy needed.  We found some cute things for Itsy Bitsy at Trade Days and enjoyed just hanging out.  Eleanor learned a variety of words on this camping trip including Papa, Stacey, duck and "tain"(train).  She was definitly a "Papa's girl" this weekend.  She let him to hold her and get her to sleep.  I don't think he wanted to put her down.  She was all about her Papa.

The water was really cold at the bubbling springs.

Little Miss Independent

Eleanor has always been one independent little girl..  As an infant, she rarely let me rock her to sleep; she just wanted me to put her in her bed and let her do it herself.  Well, not much has changed.  She is as independent as ever!  She doesn't want me to feed her anymore.  She just wants me to put it on her plate and let her do it.  Sometimes it's nice that she can do these things for herself, but there is usually quite a mess to clean up afterward.  She is such a big girl now and has developed quite a little temper.  Just let her think that you are trying to help her and you will see!

A new taste...

of old favorites.

We have been trying to get Eleanor on finger foods/table foods.  She is just not having it.  We have tried bananas, peaches, pears, green beans, sweet potatoes, and black eyed peas- most of her favorite baby foods. We started this about 2-3 weeks ago, so hopefully it will get easier and less messy (I'm keeping my fingers crossed).  I must admit that the mess she makes when eating these finger foods is literally driving me CRAZY!  I felt this same way when we first started using the spoon and baby food, but now I think it is worse.  She just smooshes it in between her little fingers and all over her high chair.  I did, however; get some really cute faces as she tried it all out.

Eleanor's First Easter

Easter 2010 was the best Easter yet!  It was Eleanor's first Easter and it couldn't have been more special for us.  We had a great service at our church and were happy that my mom and stepdad, my brother and his family, and my dad and Cori decided to come to our church for Easter.  My sister and her family and Chris's mom and dad attend our church and were there also.  We got a few pictures of my gorgeous little girl in her Easter outfit.  She looked precious in her pearls.  I think she is going to love pearls as much as Mommy does.  After church we went home to give Eleanor her Easter basket.  Gran and Pop brought Eleanor another Easter basket with all kinds of goodies.  It use to be her daddy's Easter basket a long, long time ago.  She had a lot of fun pulling everything out of her baskets, but I think her Easter card from Mommy and Daddy was her favorite. She has been carrying it around everywhere, opening it to play the song, "This Little Light of Mine".  It always makes her smile and bounce.

After we let her play in her basket for a little bit, we went over to Chris's Aunt Sybile's for lunch with his side of the family.  All of the kids were so excited about hunting for Easter eggs.  There are quite a few kids on that side of the family so we had a big group, which is always fun to watch.  Kyra and Emily were fascinated with Eleanor the whole time we were there.  They were so funny!

So proud of my sweet family.

She went straight for the Puffs!

Aunt Sybile has the sweetest little room that is just perfect all the time.  Mommy always tries to take pictures in that room and Eleanor never cooperates and Easter was no exception... Shhhh don't tell Aunt Sybile we played on her bed...
