Everyday McKay...

So people have asked me about the meaning of our blog's name, Everyday McKay.  Is it how often you blog or wanted to blog in the beginning-  ABSOLUELY NOT.  I would never live up to that nor would I want to, because you see although I do blog quite frequently it is more important for me to be an active participant in all of the things I write about than to just do things to write about them or to make my life seem interesting. 

Honestly, this blog isn't for anyone else.  It really is for me to have as a keepsake for my daughter.  It helps me remember not only the dates of the important and fun things that she is doing but also all of the excitement that goes along with them.  Sometimes the little details are just as important as the big story.  I want to remember EVERYTHING about Eleanor's childhood that I possibly can.  This stuff is what life is made of and I know that one day she will appreciate knowing about herself as a little kid. 

As for the title of our blog, it was inspired by this bible verse taken from The Message:

"So here's what I want you to do, God helping you:  Take your EVERYDAY, ordinary life- your sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking around life- and place it before God as an offering.  Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him."  Romans 12:1
