Tablescapes 2010...

....was great this year!  Our speaker was awesome.  It was one of those conferences where you leave feeling glad you came and feeling that God really spoke to you.  It really opened up my eyes to a lot of things that I need to think about differently.  This might have been my favorite year....

This year Susan and I decided to use a lot of the McKay/Parsons family antiques to decorate a "generations" table.  It turned out great considering we didn't have as detailed of a plan as we usually have prior to setting it up.  We were able to use so many special things for this "family" table.  The big MCKAY picture was one of our wedding gifts and actually hangs on our wall in the hallway.  The dishes belonged to Chris's grandmother, Edna McKay, and have been handed down to Chris and I.  Mark had a lot of old photographs of his mother and uncle as well as other family members that were used on the table.  We also used an old pipe and pocket watch that belonged to Mark's dad... I think...  The clock is an anniversary clock that belonged to Mark's mom and dad.  The candy dishes and pitcher were also Mrs. McKay's.  The tablecloth was actually an old family quilt.  Mark's Aunt Lois Lee handmade the coasters for us too.

Our verse this year was Genesis 17:7, "I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you."

My Itsy Bitsy had a great time too!
